As a medical assistant at Flagstaff Bone and Joint, I support the orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants in providing quality care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions. I perform administrative and clinical tasks, such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, taking vital signs, preparing injections, and assisting with procedures. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology in December 2022. During my studies, I worked as a rehabilitation technician and office coordinator at Northern Arizona Healthcare, where I helped patients with physical and occupational therapy exercises, maintained equipment and supplies, and coordinated referrals and authorizations. I also gained teaching experience as a biochemistry teacher's assistant at NAU, where I graded exams, held office hours, and communicated with the professor and students. My education and work experience have equipped me with interpersonal, training, and inpatient care skills, as well as a solid foundation in human anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. I am passionate about helping people improve their health and well-being, and I aspire to pursue a career in physical therapy. I am fluent in Spanish and English and value diversity and inclusion in the healthcare field.
