a highly experienced postdoctoral scientist with experience in antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement dependent cytoxicity (CDC) assays. I also have experience in protein - protein interactions (PPI), chromatin structure and gene regulation. I have created live cell assays for PPI in Fc gamma receptors and inhibition of these receptors using protein affimers. I have studied gene expression in a range of tissues important for immune function and have used FACs analysis to check the phenotypes of these cells. I also studied induction of apoptosis by FACs after using siRNA to knock down expression of genes which inhibit p53 activity.I have experience in building expression vectors for both transient transfection and retroviral - based stable transduction. I have put this to use studying receptors important for growth of cancer cells and Fc receptors which play a crucial role in inflammation in autoimmune disease. Some recent work has focussed on differentiation of THP-1 monocytes cells into macrophages with characteristics of human peripheral blood monocytes differentiated in IFNgamma and LPS, or IL-4 or IL-10. I have experience of testing for Fcgamma receptor expression and statistical tests for comparison of datasets from FACs experiments.
