As a consultant to Capita Healthcare Decisions (formerly Capita Clinical Solutions) I am responsible for several key stages in national and international projects of sizes ranging from single call centres or walk in healthcare services to large nationwide health services in countries such as Scotland, Portugal, Australia and Brazil. The role requires knowledge in several key areas to major Project Management as well as extensive knowledge of existing IT technologies. Some key areas are requirements gathering, expectation management, infrastructure planning (physical and virtual environments in VMWare and Azure), MSSQL server planning, installation and T-SQL development.Customer soft skills are an absolute requirement involving crisis management, high level negotiation and project planning to ensure that tasks are completed on time and on budget.The role works very closely with the development team, being the final sign off on any product that comes out of development requiring knowledge of C#, Java and ASP.NET as well as high level T-SQL skills in order to ensure that any issues that are discovered can be properly documented and possible workarounds implemented to ensure timely delivery.

Managing internal network and infrastructure as well as managing 3 external web servers based at Rackspace.Providing 1st and 2nd line customer support for a ColdFusion based CMS across over 100 sites and 80 customers.Working primarily with MySQL and MSSQL databases to enact Change Requests and provide all levels of support from instance management and maintenance to 1st and 2nd line issue resolution.

Managing efficiency changes for the Kewill EDI product suite involving investigation of data routes and monitoring of time and successful transmission. Transmission times are measured in milliseconds and the role involved reducing these times to provide maximum cost efficiency.This role required knowledge of AS2, EDI formats, FTP/SFTP/FTPS and VANs as well as extensive MSSQL knowledge to fully appreciate the complexity of routing tables and constraints.

This role was primarily support based, requiring good knowledge of a propriety product suite of several dozen modules, each module comprising a specific area of requirement in school and local authority level education and child care such as Early Years financial and student monitoring to Exam results or the Admission and Transfer process twice yearly.Good knowledge and understanding of Oracle (11g) and it's related SQL were critical in this role.As a Migration Specialist, I was required to work very closely with the development team on a new module of the product suite that would be rolled out to every customer in upgrade stages. Understanding .net technologies and working through a large relational database to ensure that any issues found through testing were quickly resolved or that workarounds were issued.
