It provided me a greater appreciation for how other cultures work and solve problems which would be highly useful for working abroad in the future.Working in another country also brought its challenges at times forcing me to exercise my problem solving skills regularly, whether it be coordinating my course, setting up projects, working in teams with home students or even generally just navigating a completely new location. It gave me the opportunity to travel further afield in Canada visiting cities such as Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver during my stay. Show less

During experimental work risk assessment and cooperation with other researchers was essential for success.Allowed me to gain new technical skills in 3D modelling, finite element analysis and 3D printing techniques .Presented my research findings through a poster and report and had to communicate it to a non-technical audience.
