An ambitious and passionate young coach who has graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a 2:1 in BSc Sports Coaching. I have had interesting and enjoyable experiences at Prestwick Cricket Club taking both senior and junior training, along with taster sessions for primary school pupils in the local area. Coaching has always excited me with there being many types of styles, philosophies and techniques. Since starting my coaching journey I have altered and adjusted my coaching behaviours. This has allowed for me to plan sessions for different environments and participants. Within my studies and coaching exposure, I have learnt invaluable coaching skills that will stay with me for the rest of my coaching career. I enjoy leading coaching sessions with my own ideas, with a hands on positive attitude. Having been exposed to high level coaching as a former international athlete, I am self aware of building strong relationships with participants and understanding each participants needs. Attention to detail for each participant is very important to my coaching beliefs as not one participant is the same as the next, hence the reason for taking time to analysis each participants specific areas for improvement. When it comes to opportunities and new experiences, I always want to challenge myself. I like to push my coaching abilities to the fullest taking on exciting challenges and tasks to improve each participant. To improve as a coach and person, I will need to continue to push myself out with my comfort zone! I have had 4 years of Sports Coaching specific education. I now look to better my knowledge and practices as I look to embark on coaching success following on from my studies.
