As Business Development Executive, I support a broad range of developments across the Projects and Development Team for Scotland and North England. Working closely with the Head of Projects and Development and Regional Teams to identify new bid and tender opportunities and working to ensure seamless development and delivery of tenders and bespoke bid proposals, supporting the charity in achieving growth targets agreed within strategic plans.

My main duties as Business Development Executive include Project Development, working with colleagues in Operations, Quality, Finance and Senior Management to identify potential areas for growth within the business and development of new models to add to existing portfolio; Bid Writing and Bid Management - drafting of complex tenders and funding applications to secure business against growth targets - successfully tendered to UK and Scottish Government, ESF programmes, local authorities, Big Lottery Fund, Wheatley Group and Skills Development Scotland, amongst others; Secured repeat business through competitive tendering or funding application processes.This was achieved by fostering and developing collaborative relationships with key strategic stakeholders and partners internally and across the public, private and third sectors, to assist in designing and developing successful programmes and securing external investment. Contributed to securing growth in turnover and retention of key strategic projects.

I joined the Wise Group as an Employment Advisor as part of the DWP contracted Work Programme. My role as an Advisor involved inductions, one to one appointments and leading group sessions, coaching long-term unemployed and vulnerable customer groups in employability skills and techniques.Our ultimate goal on the Work Programme is to prepare our customers for the world of work, and provide rewarding, sustainable and long-term employment opportunities through partnership working with local businesses and organisations to improve the outlook and livelihoods of our customers and their local communities.
