My current role is within the recycling industry and I work in the yard with a team. Each day we are given different tasks, based on the orders that come into site. The task I complete are:- Unpacking and sorting pallets with recycled materials- Maintaining a clean and safe work area and jet washing hardware and machines for next use- Operating machines- Offsite jobs at customer sites as a new responsibility

This was a part time role after leaving school that allowed me to earn an income whilst at college. I worked on the production line ensuring the lines ran and product targets got achieved. We worked in teams, so teamwork and communication skills were used on each shift. I had to quickly learn the job role and health and safety procedures for site, to ensure safe working was followed.

I have secured this role as a summer job from leaving school to gain some real life work experience. My current role includes:- Transport and load/unload roofing materials in truck- Lay new roofing materials such as asphalt, wood, steel and plastics- Inspect roofing for damage and perform any needed repairs- Use hand tools such as hammers, electric staplers and electric spraying tools
