Wheatstone Lng

The Wheatstone Project will consist of two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tonnes per annum and a domestic gas plant. Laing O’Rourke contract works consisted of delivering the Inside Battery Limits & Outside Battery Limits. As a Senior Engineer I managed the installation of civil works in Area 110B. This consisted of 12kms of concrete Duct Banks, 80,000m3 of Earthworks, installation of operational building foundations. My roles and responsibilities consisted of:• Ensure all project QA procedures and requirements are accomplished successfully; • Assisting procurement in securing sub-contract packages;• Commercially maintain budgetary control of numerous sub-contractor packages; • Manage, coordinate & develop 2 no Project Engineers;• Manage works accordingly to graduate engineers to provide benefit to the project whilst educating and increasing their knowledge capability and interest as engineers;• Value Engineer work practices and design to benefit Laing O’Rourke and the client financially whilst reducing programme durations.• Provide input into the planning of scope of works and liaise with senior management to correctly schedule forecasted works. • Conduct technical reviews on drawings and specifications• Assist and liaise with senior management in the development of project plans. • Supervise subcontractors and coordinate between suppliers and vendors.• Develop and provide detailed reports for the Client (weekly & monthly) • Lead by example with all HSE policies & procedures

APLNG Upstream Phase 1 Project consists of 7 new Gas Processing Facilities spread over the Surat Basin. Based at Condabri North as the Lead Civil Project Engineer. Responsibilities ranged from strict control of QA insuring ITP’s, ITR’s, as built drawings etc. are adhered to for all civil work packs; assisting procurement in securing packages by creating scope of works and material take offs; interfacing with commercial member to stay with in package budgets and capturing any possible variations correctly. Control, coordinate & manage the survey resource team which Laing O’Rourke is self-delivering on the project. Delegate works accordingly to graduate engineers to provide benefit to the project whilst educating and increasing their knowledge capability and interest as engineers. To be continuingly active in seeking innovative engineering ideas that may benefit Laing O’Rourke and the client financially whilst reducing possible durations.

Vale Centre For Health & Care - Scotland

Set over two floors the ground floor provides access to all departments and clinical spaces. The first floor area is a dedicated staff area including offices, team rooms and staff facilities. The proposed construction for the Vale Centre for Health & Care Project includes for pad foundations and a steel frame with the various envelope treatments including standing seam to roof and wall render, curtain walling and timber weatherboarding. Responsibilities will include safety inspections of the site when work is underway and ensuring regulations relating to health safety and the environment (HSE) are adhered to; communicating with a range of people including the client, subcontractors, suppliers, the public and the workforce to develop and maintain working relationships; responsible for Safety, Environmental and Quality issues relating to contract execution; preparing the site and liaising with other construction professionals such as architects, engineers, buyers, estimators and surveyors before construction work start; Developing the programme of work and strategy for making the project happen; Planning ahead to prevent problems on site before they occur, for example, planning the delivery/storage of equipment and materials

Dumfries Acute Mental Health Development - Scotland

This project is a new acute 86 bed Mental Health Development for Dumfries & Galloway Health Board. The development is to be constructed on a green-field site adjacent to the existing Crichton Hospital Campus. In which I undertook the role of a Section Manager when the construction period begun. My roles and responsibilities consisted of managing the external works and envelope of the building. Dealing with the commercial, planning, logistics and snagging duties of various subcontractors’ packages. Project was delivered ahead of contractual period and on target cost.

Perth & Kinross Schools - Scotland

The development of Crieff High School Campus would provide an extensive teaching facilities, the Campus included an assembly hall, dance studio, fitness suite, public library, music and drama studios, meeting rooms, ICT suite and sport provision integrate with Strathearn Recreation Centre.. Planning was my main functional role for this project. Focusing upon the development, management and maintenance of programmes of related activities for the timely completion of the project. Recording the weekly progress, creating sub-contractor programmes and relaying the progress through Contract Review Meetings. Project completed on time but out with target cost due to economical/market fluctuations.

West Lothian Civic Centre - Scotland

The 18,000m2 Civic Centre comprises a council chamber, offices for 600 employees, a new Civic Space, a Sheriff and District Court complex featuring six courts, and a divisional police headquarters, complete with cells.. Responsible for internal logistics and signage; setting out of external footpaths, and bridge foundations which was critical to the project.
