Zumub is a prominent e-commerce supplement brand in Portugal that serves the broader European market. Although not a tech firm, during all this year with Zumub, I worked on significant software development initiatives:- Established a full CI/CD workflow, teaching GIT usage, and automating deployment with GitHub actions.- Segregated environments into development, staging, and production, safeguarding secrets through env files and GitHub.- Dockerized the dev environment for version consistency, given the system's legacy nature.- Introduced database migrations.- Created a RESTful API in Laravel, modularizing and segregating it from the core codebase.- Introduced API testing using Laravel's suite and documented it via swagger.After that, I transitioned to department enhancements, starting with HR. Previously they did all their work on spreadsheets. I collaborated along with them to develop an ERP system with the following features:- Candidate management module with multiple recruitment sources, facilitating end-to-end recruitment processes.- Position management module: enabling HR to oversee job listings, publish them, and monitor applicant stats.- Integrated attendance systems for real-time tracking, allowing employees to manage records, absences, and vacation requests.- Rolled out a timesheet payment module, streamlining attendance, contracts, shifts, and hour bank management, with export capabilities to Primavera Software for payroll processing.This improvement allowed the HR department to hired a record number of employees in 2023 and reduced the payroll processing time from 5 days to 1 day.At the end I transitioned to the logistics department where I developed the module for the pickup, B2B (wholesale), factory, and stock modules.Zumub provided me a dynamic work environment, presenting unique challenges inherent to its growth trajectory.

Dreamlabs is a leading software house renowned for crafting top-tier web and mobile solutions tailored to a spectrum of industry clients.After more then a year of internship, I joined Dreamlabs full-time as a full-time programmer. Here are some of my contributions:- Transitioned the payment module from JavaScript to TypeScript, enhancing integrations with credit card systems like ClearSalle and Adyen.- Collaborated with the team to modularize the system. Being in charge of communication and interactions.- Led the development of scraping tools within a dedicated microservice, leveraging Puppeteer/Chromium and Cheerio. CapMonster assisted with captcha challenges.- Fine-tuned system operations to boost performance, allowing the company to go from a couple hundred transactions per minute to thousands transactions per minute.- Worded with jest archiving about 90% of code coverage and 100% use case coverage.- Migrated from raw SQL queries to TypeORM framework to provide more flexibility and safety for the database.Additionally, I engaged in tech-related discussions, ranging from picking the right technology stack to brainstorming workflow enhancements and optimization strategies, contributing to the continues improvement of the system.I can say that Dreamlabs was a growth-centric journey. The skills I honed and the experiences I garnered are invaluable, and I'm deeply thankful for every moment spent there.

At Dreamlabs, my intern days had me working side-by-side with a super talented group of developers. Together, we designed and put together key dashboard modules that matched the specific needs of our varied clients.Here's what I picked up during that time:- I got the hang of building and updating web pages, making the most out of Angular and giving them a sleek look with Bootstrap.- Worked on developing and integrating Restful APIs, which made sure data flowed smoothly and everything stayed in sync.- Migrated the backend to use TypeScript alongside Express.js. Also, I used Parse Server as the ORM to make our database tasks run smoother.Looking back, I can say that my time as an intern at Dreamlabs was huge for me. It wasn't just a first step, but a giant leap into the tech world. I got a real feel for how top software companies work and found out just how much I love this tech stuff.
