Responsible for execution of the capital program (annual magnitude: $5M/20 projects) for the Beaumont ethylene glycol plant and the Lake Charles environmental projects. Executed projects personally and provided oversight/guidance to outside engineering firms. Specific duties included preparation and/or coordination of project definition, cost estimate, funding request, final engineering and design, procurement, construction documents, and commissioning/start-up.• The capital projects for both the 2006 and 2008 Beaumont plant turnarounds were assigned to me less than a year prior to the outages. The projects started up when required, operated correctly, and were well within the budgeted funding.• A large and costly project had been defined to address an outfall washout situation at the Lake Charles plant. Upon being assigned this project, I evaluated the existing scope in view of the current business environment and developed a solution reflecting major scope reduction. The simplified solution was funded and executed at plant level, with savings of magnitude $1 million to the corporation.• A project to replace an electrical substation at the Beaumont plant was estimated to cost approximately $1.5 million. I led the project team in a detailed analysis of the specific deficiencies that would be corrected by this project. We recommended (and executed) a rehabilitation program to correct the specific issues via equipment refurbishment or modification, which cost about $1 million less.

Executed projects personally and provided oversight/guidance to contract project engineers and outside engineering firms. Specific duties included preparation and/or coordination of project definition, cost estimate, funding request, final engineering and design, procurement, construction documents, and commissioning/start-up. Coordinated preparation of capital budgets and long-range spending plans for TDI and Phosgene Plants.• Executed portfolio of projects under the general titles of Risk Remediation and Cost Reduction. Completed per required schedule and significantly under budget. Included installation of a Triconex Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and numerous high-alloy specialty valves required for phosgene service. • TDI plant turnaround frequency was 2 years or less; projects were assigned with minimal execution time available. Turnaround projects started up when required, operated correctly, and were within the budgeted funding.• Successfully executed numerous projects involving high-alloy (monel, hastelloy, stainless steel) heat exchangers, pumps, vessels, valves, and piping• Executed "fast track" projects to meet Louisiana Air Toxics Compliance deadlines for emissions from TDI process unit and TDI shipping area.• Executed muriatic acid production expansion and renovation projects. Incorporated innovative use of dual-laminate vessels and piping to solve corrosion issues.

Project Manager on projects assigned to the Regional Engineering group; projects included:• First phase of the Lake Charles’ complex Wastewater Management project• Front-end project engineering for the TDA expansion and the DNT facility• Physics International expansion in California (required temporary re-location) • Hazardous Waste Landfill design and construction, and development of incinerator alternatives for the Lake Charles TDI plant• Hi-Pure Acid Facility upgrade. Included application of high purity plastic equipment and piping, and clean room technology. Performed all on-site construction management in addition to project management (required temporary re-location to Pennsylvania)

Alternating periods of direct project management and project engineering group leader. Supervised up to six project engineers, executing both Lake Charles and Regional projects. Significant projects executed personally were a suspended solids treatment facility and conversion of fired units from natural gas to fuel oil.
