    It was an amazing experience to have been associated with the CCES organization, interacting with students/post-docs./visiting scientists from all over the World, and listening to seminars given by a steady stream of distinguished visitors.Whereas my Ph.D adviser, Prof. Burke, instilled in me a deep love for electrochemical research, Prof. Yeager, a towering, world-renown researcher, introduced me to the realities of contract research, where one had to deliver results to satisfy the organization who paid the bills, a reality that still prevails in my career to this day. More than that, however, he fostered a research environment where rigor was uppermost in importance; experimental results had to be beyond doubt, and repeatable. This was no small task for me, who was tasked with studying the kinetics of electrochemical reduction of oxygen in novel acid electrolytes at platinum electrocatalysts for fuel cell application, a process notoriously susceptible to poisoning due to impurities in solution, it being virtually impossible to remove these. I am deeply indebted to Prof. Yeager for giving me the privilege of working with him, and for what he taught me.
