Professor Eugene Richard Sensenig is a renowned scholar and an experienced educator with a profound commitment to exploring the complexities of global mobility, social justice, and sustainable development. He is the Director of the Lebanese Emigration Research Center (LERC) and a Professor in the Faculty of Law and Political Science (FLPS) at Notre Dame University-Louaize. Prof. Sensenig has dedicated his career to fostering meaningful dialogue and promoting positive change across diverse societies.He has an MA in German literature and a PhD in political science from the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (PLUS) - Austria. Following his PhD, Prof. Sensenig worked on his habilitation research in German titled: “From Metternich to EU Accession – 150 Years of Austrian Migration Policy”. Beyond his academic pursuits, he has a passion for social justice and inclusivity led him to co-found the "GenderLink Diversity Centre" in Salzburg, a social enterprise that collaborates with European governments, businesses, and civil society to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. His commitment to these principles is further reflected in his scholarly publications, which encompass over 100 articles and five books addressing migration, natural resources development, gender studies, minority studies, interfaith dialogue, and Central European Orientalism.
