Participating in local, state, national pin collector shows, conventions, and expositions the company’s founder, Eugene Stovall, earned a well-deserved reputation for honesty and fair dealing. After successfully handling thousands of transactions over the Internet, Stovall earned the prestigious red star ranking from eBay. After the publication of two pin guides, Stovall’s Guide to Media Pins and Stovall’s Guide to Disney Pins, OPC became Oakland Publishing Company LLC and decided to commit its resources to the publications business. In 2005, OPC published Eugene Stovall’s first novel, Frank Yerby: A Victim’s Guilt, a 2007 IPPY Bronze Medal winner in the multiethnic category.
