Eugene serves as Vice President Medical Strategy Director for the world leading medical communications company CMC Connect, part of IPG Health, where he leverages his extensive experience in oncology across numerous tumor types including breast, prostate, ovarian, kidney (RCC), liver (HCC), billiary track cancer, colorectal, lung (NSCLC), and head and neck cancers. Additionally, his hematologic oncology work has included leukemia (CML, AML, ALL), lymphoma (Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and classic Hodgkin’s lymphoma), and MDS. Eugene is a recognized external expert in multiple myeloma and served as the Medical Director for Managing Myeloma for seven years.Eugene's expertise covers numerous therapeutic approaches including chemotherapeutics, targeted therapies, multi-modal strategies, immuno-oncology. He also has expertise around a number of gene therapy platforms (AAV-based, retroviral and lentiviral-based, as well as gene editing approaches including CRISPR). Eugene has significant expertise with several rare and ultra-rare genetic disorders such as inherited retinal disorders (IRD), hematologic disorders (hemophilia, hemoglobinopathies including beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease), disorders of the CNS including Huntington's disease and ALS, and also with inherited lysomal and glycogen storage diseases. Over the years, he has also worked in medical education and communications for CNS disorders including ADHD, Alzheimer’s, depression, migraine, MS, and pain; and with formal training in microbiology and virology, with infectious diseases ( viral, bacterial, and other micro-organisms). Eugene earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from he Icahn School of Medicine Graduate School - Mount Sinai and completed a postdoctoral fellowship with additional training in Cancer Biology and Immunopathology and cytomics supported by a National Research Service Award (NRSA) at the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia where he conducted preclinical and clinical research in breast cancer. Eugene is a fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and a member of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (AGCT). Having worked with medical affairs teams, commercial teams and in accredited continuing medical education, Eugene has ample experience leading agency and client teams in strategic engagements and in the execution of medical education and communications initiatives that meet and exceed objectives.
