As an Assistant Researcher consultant, my role involved supporting the UK projects team on a part-time basis on defence and space sector projects for government and private customers. Conducting market research, identifying and extracting information on key industry trends, innovation and business development opportunities in the space sector.

I worked on creating an ML-based link outage prediction algorithm for optical satellite systems part of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS). This involved correlating Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) data with cloud coverage data from EUMETSAT to determine the conditions leading to a communications outage for a given satellite pass window.
