In 2013 I founded Auth0 with Matias Woloski with the goal of making identity and access management simple and secure for all developers in the world. Our mission became: "to secure the world's identities so innovators can innovate". We had both realized how this area was deeply underserved. We were inspired by what some great companies were doing for developers in other areas: Stripe for payments, Heroku for hosting, SendGrid for emails, Twilio for messaging. In 2013 we signed up almost a thousand "free" customers, and 2 (two) paying ones: a self-service developer, and an enterprise customer. Both are still our customers today.Year over year, we never stopped building and innovating. The focus on (often small) but constant, relentless improvement became one of our core values. We called it "N+1>N"And year over year, we kept building: the team, the product and the company; reaching 10's of thousands of developers, and thousands of companies all over the world. Billions of logins go through our platform today every month. I feel blessed I get to be part of so many organizations in the world, in all industries and segments. I can hardly walk around without seeing one of our customers. Our success has been always tied to our customers' success. There's skin in the game for us. We are not infallible, but we do care. A lot. We care deeply about our partnerships, the quality of the service we provide, the innovation we bring to market and our contribution to making the internet safer for all. We care deeply about the trust our customers put on us. This deep care became our second core value. We call it "Give a shit"Delivering a critical, complex service like ours at this scale cannot be done without an immensely dedicated and passionate team. Auth0 is the result of the dedication of each "auziro", regardless of location, profession, role and seniority. This collaborative attitude became our third core value. We call it "One Team, One Score".In March 2021, we joined forces with Okta, a market leader in the same space. Together we are able to cover a much larger surface and solve more problems for our customers. Okta and Auth0 are different, yet compatible (in culture) and complementary (in offerings). We now exist to "Enable everyone to safely use any technology". And we are off to doing some epic shit together.
