👋 Hi! My name is Eun Young and I'm a 2Y MBA Candidate at Columbia Business School. I've always been curious about the intersection of technology and policy, and these remain my areas of passion. I'm pursuing my MBA to transition to a career in tech. I spent my summer interning at Workday as a product strategist in the Talent product space. I love all things to do with innovation and design, and have a strong personal interest in the media and entertainment space as well. 🔍 Prior to my MBA, I spent 5 years in the IC (intelligence community) space, both as a federal defense consultant at Booz Allen and as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army. I've spent the majority of my career helping various DoD clients identify, analyze, and mitigate threats with a focus on the Asia-Pacific theater, leveraging open source data and cross-collaborating with data scientists. I've also contributed to leading national security and homeland defense strategy for a division-level command as an Intelligence Plans and Operations Officer. I'm currently a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. 🍀 In undergrad, I studied abroad in Korea, China, and Australia. I've utilized my experiences and linguistic capabilities in my professional work. I was a peer advisor at Notre Dame, highly involved in Army ROTC, and volunteered with the Early Childhood Development Center, amongst other extracurriculars. I remain dedicated to the empowerment of authenticity, inclusivity, and equity in every organization I've belonged to. 💫 As part of my way of giving back, I've started a newsletter titled Next Gen Nav to provide resources, job openings, and career advice. I am a first-generation college student, first-generation professional, immigrant, and vet - one who has extensive experience working in male-dominated fields and industries. I've managed teams and created policies, had oversight over 200 Soldiers as an Executive Officer, and will continue contributing to future leaders as a Peer Advisor at CBS this fall. ☕️ If you'd like to chat about any of the above, please send me a note!
