Twenty creates new opportunities for friends to meet up and bring people together in real life. We were a seed stage company attempting to ambitiously change how friends hang out.Led Product, Design, Research, and Data. Early stage experiment reached 2 million users and featured on TechCrunch and CNBC. Ultimately we were unable to reach PMF with a dense enough friends graph to create new social behavior.

Owned all aspects of Pinterest search from user experience, search rankings, search ads relevance, index and infrastructure. Managed teams of PMs, frontend / backend / infra engineers, and designers.- Significantly inflected search experience and usage on Pinterest- Improved new user search retention rates from <20% to >50%- Improve search relevance and experience in measurable improvements (Daily searcher volume, session length, pin and clickthrough rate) leading to causal lift in pinner retention and increased LTV.

Build out and led product management in Hulu's Beijing office. Supported headcount growth of product development from 10 to 80.Led the product and development launch of Hulu.com redesign, Hulu's web platform with over 30 million MAUs. Oversaw all stages of product, business, and development implementation and integration.Directed the assembly and launch of Hulu Japan, the company’s first international platform. Architected the technical requirements and roadmap. Oversaw all stages of business involvement and technical development.Managed all projects of the Beijing R&D center (80 employees), with assistance from a talented team. Led a variety of customer facing and internal projects from end-to-end, including site features, social integrations, advertising research, sponsorship initiatives, internal tools, and metrics analyses.Supervised entire product cycles with the team, from vision and idea generations, specifications and requirements, user interface design, implementation, and closure with metrics and analyses.Managed product development org of 40 headcount including product, design, and engineering managers.Bridged with leadership team from headquarter office to transform business strategy and product visions into deliverables. Designed and implemented a distributed storage and replication system for cost effective storage solution using commodity hardware; comparable commercial solution would cost over $200,000.Developed a video processing application to address frequent reports of faulty commercial breaks. The volume of complaints was almost nonexistent after deployment of this tool. Addressing this issue has improved user experience, protected the brand, and lowered manual effort.Designed and created social mechanisms on Hulu.com: Hulu Discussion Boards and Hulu Friends. Led development from conception, user interface, and implementation.

Worked on core components team and coordinated as lead engineer across multiple teams with the department.Designed and implemented servers and frameworks with Python, C++, Win32 MFC, in user mode and kernel mode. Engaged in extensive software debugging and crash dump analysis on Windows and x86 assembly.Completed M.S. degree from UCLA while working full-time position.
