The Survey Drafter / Plan Checker is responsible for creating and verifying detailed survey drawings, maps, and plans. Key Responsibilities:1. Survey DraftingCreate and update detailed survey drawings, plats, and topographic maps using survey data and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroSurvey CadEmbeded, MicroStation).Draft property boundaries, easements, right-of-way alignments, and contours based on data collected from field surveys.Incorporate GIS data, legal descriptions, and utility locations into survey drawings as required by the project.2. Plan Checking & Quality ControlReview survey plans and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards and local codes.Identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in survey data and drawings and work with survey teams to resolve issues.Perform quality control checks on deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications and company standards.3. Data Management & DocumentationMaintain organized records of all survey data, drawings, and plan revisions.Ensure that all documentation and drawings reflect the latest revisions, updates, and project requirements.Prepare reports and summaries of revisions, highlighting discrepancies and recommending corrective measures.4. Coordination & CollaborationWork closely with surveyors, civil engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.Communicate effectively with team members to clarify requirements and address any issues or adjustments.Assist in reviewing and interpreting legal descriptions, plats, and survey-related documents to ensure accuracy.5. Compliance & StandardsEnsure all drawings comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and surveying standards. Stay current with industry standards, survey regulations, and technological advancements in survey drafting and plan checking.
