I've worked for a certified Master Gardener, she had taught me soil construction as well as plant identification. I worked with her for a year before going into the Job Corps Program. The Vermont JCP is a program that is federally funded and teaches students ages 16-24 skills to enter a career. I chose Urban Forestry where I learned how to properly operate, maintain and use a chainsaw. Over the course I was chosen as Shop Foreman and it was my duty to ensure the other trainees in class were taught and safe. I was successful at the program and was accepted into the Advanced Training, where I am currently taking a course to become a Forestry Tech for wildlife and fisheries. My goal is to work in a conservation for the US. Forest Service.
