Strijder.Amsterdam is een initiatief van Eva Brouwer en Marijn Arbouw. Samen kwamen zij op het idee om een ode uit te brengen aan de ernstig zieke burgemeester. Voordat dit idee voor een ode realiteit kon worden, overleed Eberhard van der Laan op donderdag 5 oktober 2017. Strijder.Amsterdam bestaat ter nagedachtenis aan onze geliefde burgemeester en aan alles waar hij voor gestreden heeft.Wij hopen met de Strijder.Amsterdam sjaal de mensen een mooi symbool van Eberhard van der Laan te geven en daarmee geld op te halen voor KWF. Alle winst wordt gedoneerd aan KWF om hen te steunen in hun onderzoek naar een wereld waarin niemand meer hoeft te sterven aan kanker.
