ROEF is the highest festival of Amsterdam and with it we want to show the sky high potential of the undeveloped roofscape. Currently only 2% of the rooftops in Amsterdam are used and just 1% of the flat rooftops is green. Green roofs increase the biodiversity, improve the air quality, they insulate, are sound absorbing and help to absorb heavy rainfall. Because the ground floor is getting more crowded everyday, a roof garden is also the perfect place to relax.
