Led the Middle Eastern hub for the IRC’s Airbel impact lab, leading strategy, team management and supervision, and ensuring initiatives engage a broad set of stakeholders and move along the “design, test, and scale” pipeline efficiently and with a high degree of quality. • Provided technical support to 10+ programs per year for colleagues across Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.• Oversaw and implemented Flagship programs of the hub including leading fundraising and doner management. Programs included:o Responded to mental health issues at scale among displaced populations by co-creating a program to reduce incidents of light to moderate stress. First two prototypes reached 1 million+ people.o Conducted a randomized controlled trial to test different approaches to matching low-skilled job seekers with work. o Launched an Innovation Lab for vulnerable Jordanians and refugees to develop solutions to challenges they face. Launched eight solutions led by affected populations, including solutions focused on digital learning, employment generation, and nutrition.• Integrated co-creation model into all Hub activities by launching the Community Design Group, a group of refugees from Syria, Iraq, Sudan and Yemen trained and employed to integrate human centered design into IRC’s program strategy and design.

Currently building a network of innovation labs that will provide youth the technology, training, and incentives they need to solve problems they identify in their communities. Work across UNICEF to support data science initiatives and build new tools for better data management. With partner Souktel, run Technology Salon Amman, designed to foster debate and build community at the intersection of technology, and humanitarianism/development.

Identify emerging trends with an eye to understanding how UNICEF can mitigate emerging risks or take advantage of opportunities. Particular focus on building, testing, and evaluating tools to facilitate dynamic risk analysis.

Maria's Libraries is dedicated to promoting and developing an integrated network of libraries and library services in Kenya, fully connected with each other, their national system, and the world. We use a responsible NGO design to strengthen both the library network and local capacity for development generally.

Managed several projects for an innovations unit within the UN, including 8 research projects conducted in collaboration with 11 UN Agencies; five research projects in collaboration with private sector and academic partners around the use of “new data” for development; writing all Global Pulse Talking Points for the UN Secretary- General and other high level officials; developing a strategic plan for Global Pulse to develop a privacy framework; and other inter-agency collaborations as needed. Primary responsibility included providing sectoral expertise on unique interdisciplinary innovations research, connecting “big data” methodologies with development objectives. Results of this research were presented by Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon at an informal briefing of the General Assembly, and at a technical briefing for UN statisticians and researchers.
