Seddik has more than 30 years’ experience in the planning, development, and expansion of businesses and investments in the Egyptian economy. In 2012, Seddik headed the Investment Promotion Sector of GAFI (General Authority for Investment and Free Zone) leading a team of more than 100 employees.Her responsibilities included attracting FDI, managing, planning, and executing investment opportunities for the Egyptian government from generating leads to closing deals; research and market intelligence; business matchmaking; investor after-care; local economic development and events management.In 2016, Seddik was promoted to First Under Secretary and Assistant to GAFI CEO. Her main duties came in line with the implementation of Egypt’s new investment strategy. Under her leadership, her diversified team successfully targeted increased investment inflows (local and foreign investors, and expatriates), enhanced Greenfield investments, encouraged existing businesses expansion, promoted key economic sectors creating job opportunities and improving added value, established investment map, promoted joint ventures, and enhanced cluster development.
