About Eva Dijkstra

Eva Dijkstra is the co-founder of Design by Toko, and elected member of Alliance Graphique Internationale. After graduating and gaining valuable insights at some of the worlds leading creative agencies in The Netherlands, the United States and Australia, Eva co-founded ‘Design by Toko’ in partnership with Michael Lugmayr in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 2001.Lead by curiosity and eagerness to discover new places both relocated to Australia in 2006 to establish the agency in beautiful Sydney. Nine months after opening it’s Sydney doors Design by Toko was awarded the coveted Hotshop agency of the year award by Creative Magazine.Eva’s cross continental insights and unique approach enabled her to quickly gain (inter)national recognition for design excellence and innovations in the field of branding and design overall.Her work encompasses brand identities, wayfinding systems, installations and exhibition design, editorial and campaign design for clients such as the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the White Rabbit Gallery, City of Sydney, FutureCity London, Capital Museum of China, Australian Institute of Architects, Powerhouse Museum, Architecture Institute Rotterdam and The Danish Agency for Culture.Eva’s strong conceptual, creative and innovative ideas have been applied to a variety of projects, including the much acclaimed DSO annual report for the city of The Hague in which she translated graphs into works of abstract art, which continues to inform her personal art practise to the day of today.In 2016 her work was honoured with a coveted membership at the Alliance Graphique Internationale in Switzerland. Memberships are on invite only, and currently counts only a few hundred leading creatives worldwide, collectively responsible for the design of the world's top corporations and institutions.
