About Eva Gudbergsdottir

With over 15 years of experience in public affairs, media relations, and communication, I am the Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations at The City of Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland. In this role, I am responsible for the strategic direction and coordination of public relations, communications, and marketing for the city, as well as the strategic planning and organization of all major events and filming in the city.I have a proven track record of successfully managing long and short term projects, such as designing and organizing events, increasing community engagement, marketing campaigns, and efforts to increase national and international media placements. I have also worked as a Director of Communications and an Adjunct Professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, where I was a member of the Crisis Communications Team, responsible for media training and placement of experts, and taught courses on social media and US culture. I have a Master of Public Administration, a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies with a focus on Conflict Resolution and Development, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science. I was also nominated for the Edda Award for TV Reporter of the Year in 2001 for my reporting on the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in New York City.
