As a Communication Officer at AtmoHub, the central hub for atmospheric composition in Greece, I lead the initiative to share vital information about air quality and atmospheric conditions in the country with the general public, stakeholders, and policy-makers. My responsibilities:● I manage the client's LinkedIn and Twitter accounts● I prepare the weekly editorial plan (LI and TW) using Sprinklr, a social media content management system ● I write social media copies for Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube posts based on defined KPIs and performance-driven data ● I write parts of the newsletter that is distributed to subscribers via email ● I contribute to the relevant parts of the monthly reportingIn the field of biotech I am mainly focused on cures for genetic diseases, cell and gene therapies for organ and tissue replacement, cancer prevention and cancer treatment, neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune diseases, and how big data transform healthcare.My primary focus on agtech includes disruptive approaches that aim to make agriculture a force in the fight against climate change, reduce land and water usage, and prevent crop loss and food waste.

Materials scientists are changing the world, and my job was to write their stories. My articles and analyses have been published in the Materials Research Society Bulletin and their news site, as well as in the Energy Quarterly special section of MRS Bulletin.For the five wonderful years I worked as a freelance science journalist for MRS Bulletin, I covered news about energy storage technologies, nanomaterials, biomaterials, and renewables. I also wrote features on the challenges materials scientists face in their quest to find sustainable solutions to the world's energy problems. Thus far, my journalistic work has focused on a global audience of leading academics and industrial and government researchers.I wrote 40 breakthrough articles (600-800 words) and 10 features (~2500 words) focused on the chemistry, physics, and engineering of new materials that have changed the course of research in their respective fields. During my PhD I accepted the challenge to connect the dots between nanochemistry and liquid-crystal physics. The dots... well, they were actually quantum dots, which I synthesized in the lab and successfully mixed with liquid crystals, and... the rest is history! Apart from my scientific activities, I had to use my skills in communication to re-establish our network of researchers, and I played the role of "translator” between the chemists and physicists of my team.
