I work with editors, reporters and senior producers across CBC's regions and beats on programming for the main CBCNews.ca homepage. Some of the ways I help our stories reach a wider audience include: building content packages with interesting video and images; writing compelling headlines; and working with writers to make their stories more relevant to a national audience.

I contributed to news coverage on CBCNews.ca, including pitching, writing and packaging stories; building photo galleries; cutting video clips; and editing stories. Occasional producer, where I managed lineups and worked with other journalists across CBC's regions, and newsletter writer (including Morning and Coronavirus Briefs).

I edited and packaged stories for the Toronto Star and Globe and Mail websites. Responsibilities included writing SEO-friendly display copy, adding multimedia embeds and working with wires. I also helped to produce CP's COVID-19 morning newsletter and wrote short video scripts for CP/Oovvuu on evergreen topics that I researched and pitched.

I edited stories across HuffPost's various sections (including news, politics, business and life), working with writers to maintain a high standard of journalism by ensuring accuracy, clarity and balance.

I wrote articles for Metro News on education, style, events and more, as assigned by the special features editor. I also wrote stories on post-secondary education and the mining sector for Progress, a special annual publication of the Sudbury Star that covers major events and developments happening in Greater Sudbury.

I managed the lineup for the Daily Life section across five cities (Halifax, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver), and directed a team of page designers and editors in production of the section. I also worked with freelance writers from story conception to editing to packaging for print and online.

As Life & Entertainment section editor, I directed story scheduling and packaging for three weekly sections (Drive, Home and Travel). As News section editor, I took on a senior role among copy editors to keep production running smoothly and on schedule.

I edited and designed pages on Metro’s News and Life & Entertainment desks to meet multiple daily deadlines. I often assisted or filled in on managerial duties including sending pages to the printers and slotting the Canada/World section.

I edited articles for CP style, structure and accuracy, and created writing/editing guidelines for the editorial team. I also designed pages for the magazine (published quarterly) and posted stories online. As Well-being Section Editor, I wrote stories on fitness, nutrition, green living, etc., and ran the Twitter account.

I wrote eight stories a day, twice a week, for the daily news section, covering local, national and international entertainment news with a Canadian focus. I also posted stories online.

I researched and pitched ideas for daily science news/features. Other tasks included: attending daily story meetings, writing show rundowns for the web, assisting on shoots.
