Currently working as CTO at Becon - Be Connected.I like to say that I was born and raised in a startup, given that, one of my values is to create software that delivers actual value to my customers. My main values are:- excellence;- "The time is always right to do what is right." (Martin Luther King, Jr.)- innovation;My first and current "job" after graduate is at Becon, I do not like to say I am founder because I joined after a couple of months of its beginning. I started as junior software developer, but as we all know with early stage startups, I had to do a lot more than just writing code like interview clients to develop new product, support, climb walls to install routers... you know, the usual. At first I learned a little bit of all of the stack we used: MySQL, Java, Apache2, Linux and Angular 1. Our CEO is a tech guy and a great mentor so I had a smooth learning curve and was able to start coding in "no time". After a couple of months I developed a lot of interest in the backend and the operations (DevOps) part, and as confident as a beginner can be I decided I was ready to do my first production deploy, but I was not. All our services stopped and our CEO had to revert it all, after that epic failure I started studied a lot more about DevOps and upgraded our deploy pipeline so no one will ever fail like me again. It was not a complete CI/CD, just created a docker image for our product and created some scripts to compile and deploy everything, along with a nice and clear README, of course.I kept studying about it and new technologies that helps us be more efficient, productive and less prone to errors. With that in mind I started orchestrate our containers with kubernetes and implemented istio to manage our service meshes. In a new product we started to use python and Flask for development, as it is often easier for junior software developers to learn and start contributing faster.And well, I am still studying and always trying to improve, right now what grasps my attention is software architecture, domain driven development, how to work with legacy code and AI, after all I have to keep tabs with it to know when my job will be gone.
