The Project “Measuring the Effectiveness of Crime Prevention Programs and Projects” was supported by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic’s Security Research Program for State Needs 2022-2027 (SecPro). It is implemented by a consortium consisting of the International Institute forSecurity (MBI, z.u.) and the research institute ACCENDO — Center for Science and Research.The project aims to develop the crime prevention system in the Czech Republic, particularly in the area of its efficient and successful functioning, its ability to measure and evaluate its effectiveness and success properly, and based on that, to focus more on practices that have proven successful in the future.

My dissertation research was motivated by the high observed number of graduates at the Institute of Tropics and Subtropics, Czech University of Life Science in Prague, who found employment not corresponding to their educational background. The goal was to find conditions and their combinations which caused the employment to correspond (or not) to the educational background in a set of graduates between 2005 and 2010. I used a method developed for comparative political science, Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA), on this sociological data set.
