Internship in the Sector Programme Natural Resources and Development focusing on political consultation regarding resource governance for the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This included supporting the main advisor in preparing assessments, briefings and concept notes with regards to resource governance, resources and development/ conflict issues, good contract management initiatives (G7 CONNEX Initiative) as well as transparency initatives (EITI). In addition to supporting the policy consultation, I assisted in the creation and establishment of the CONNEX initiative by helping to start pilot measures in Madagascar, Mali and Tanzania as well as giving administrative support for the setting up of the CONNEX support unit.

Internship and part-time student position in consulting with focusing on analysis & research, policy advice and appraisals & evaluation services mainly focused on Sub-Saharan Africa. During my tenure I supported the lead consultants in designing consultancy bids for the Norwegian MFA, NORAD, SIDA, DFID and others regarding programming and assessments in the field of human rights, gender-based violence, women and security/ UN Res. 1325 and peace and security in regional organisations in Africa. In addition I supported the service delivery for on-going projects with reasearch for example for the reveiw of Oil for development in Uganda, the political-economic analysis of the fisheries sector in Mozambique, NORADs Liberia REDD+ project and the Weapons of Mass Destruction project.

Part-time position as a student assistant supporting student groups of Friends of the Earth Norway and its youth organisation.My main task was to give administrative support to existing local student groups and start up new chapters in Norway. This included organizing student group retreats, a study tour to St. Petersburg and assisting with student board meetings.

As part of the Programme for Young Professionals (NFP) my main focus was the optimization of the financial and administrative processes of the partner organisation Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) and the GIZ Ghana. In addition to this, I assisted in the pilot phase of the 'Commitment for Africa' Initiative by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with partner organizations of the civil society in Ghana. This included conception of programming as well as assessment of the financial and administrative procedures.

Intern at the GIZ country office being responsible for optimizing the administrative processes after the GTZ-DED-INWENT merger. After the merger of three German international development organisations, the GIZ country office needed to adjust and mainstream administrative standards and services for its development programmes. I supported the head of administration with the design of Standard Operating Procedures and assisted in the review of service handbooks, knowledge and tender management in order to support the implementation of the development programmes in the country.In addition I assisted the Coordinator for Civil Society support with the piloting of the 'Commitment for Africa' initiative and the communication with partner organizations.

Internship in the Africa unit with focus on the editing of the FES Africa Yearbook. In this capacity I was responsible for the review and editing of annual reports from 22 project countries in Sub-Sahara Africa covering political and socio-economical topics of current Africa. In addition to this task I assisted the Africa unit in researching policy issues and supporting panel debates and information meetings in the HQ in Berlin.

Student Assistance in the KOSVED ("Konstanz One-Sided Violence Event Data set") research project and managing editor of the EUP Journal.I was responsible for managing the database of KOSVED, supporting the Chair with research and giving administrative support for EUP Journal contributions and peer-review.

Working in support to the local country programme with focus on sustainable Land Resource Management, Clearing of land mines and HR support, I helped in the implementation and monitoring of on-going projects and wrote a project evaluation report on a lands-rights project after a field visit to Borena, South Ethiopia.
