My research explored how youth and young adults are socialized into the organization, mobilization, and sustainability processes of social movements and political protests. I aim to use social movement theorist Douglas McAdam's (1986) theory of "biographical availability" to explore the important role youth serve in maintaining social movements and achieving these movements' goals. Finally, my work will explore how participation in social movements and political protests, especially in "new" social movements like Occupy Wall Street and the 2011 Wisconsin Protests, influences youth political identity.
