I managed the Iranian maritime portion of the client relationship with C4ADS's largest single USG funder and coordinated team to produce multilingual research products in support of ambitious funder requirements. I pioneered our use of satellite imagery and managed relationship with Planet (imagery provider) including developing a method to identify dark vessels using satellite imagery, AIS data, and other data sources. Worked as a member of the GIS team. Compiled ortho-rectified images of the City of Alexandria, Egypt using Google Maps and ArcGIS to generate base maps. Created shapefiles by hand of city blocks and man-made features covering large swathes of the city of Alexandria. These shapefiles are being used to survey construction projects which violate building laws in Alexandria, contributing to a more comprehensive urban planning policy in the city.

Performed quality control on aerial photos for Microsoft’s Bing maps product to compete with Google Earth. Contributed to the team's effort to image the continental US and Western Europe (approx. 6.4 M sq km). Consistently applied strict QC standards and gave final review to imagery before it reached the user. I was exposed to internal Microsoft products including Product Studio, Bing, Excel, Internet Explorer, Outlook and in-house task-managing applications. In addition I used Adobe Photoshop to perform manual fixes on features. Additionally, I was tasked with training new QC operators and addressing their questions.

Translated 'What Every Immigrant Needs to Know: Practical Information for Living and Succeeding in the United States' from English into Modern Standard Arabic. The 40 page document is in circulation nationwide, and for its most recent edition the Arabic translation will be available.

For three summers I worked as a youth leader and program participant, tending to two acres of organic vegetables, selling produce at the Boulder Farmers’ Market and leading garden/volunteer activities. My time at ¡Cultiva! included numerous hours of unpaid community service trips to Longmont Food Share and the Able Garden plant therapy sessions for the physically/mentally disabled and the elderly.
