About Evan Bertis-Sample

I'm a first-generation third-year Computer Science student at Northwestern University. As someone who has always been deeply technical, but grew up pursuing the arts, I've developed a passion for the intersection of technology and design. As such, I've developed a strong interest in game development and design, and have spent the last few years working on various games projects, working on everything from gameplay programming, to graphics programming, to creating art assets. When I'm not working on games, I spend my time working with Northwestern's SAE Formula Racing team, where I serve as lead engineer of the Data Acquisition team, which is comprised of 20 engineers. I'm overseeing nine different projects, covering areas such as embedded systems development in C/C++, and cross-platform desktop application development in Python. In the past, I developed the car's wireless telemetry system, which will allow us to monitor the car's performance in real time, which helped us understand the car's performance and make data-driven decisions to improve the car's performance.
