Serving as Tandem’s lead financial executive, Evan Black oversees all financial and accounting operations. He is also responsible for customer relations and service training of Tandem representatives in each of the company’s five offices.An ETA Certified Payment Professional (CPP), Black has a firm foundation in advising small- to mid-size companies on credit card processing, mobile payments, loyalty card programs and other methods of electronic payment collections. He has been deeply involved in Tandem’s success since 2010, where monthly billings have increased 700% under his leadership.Before joining Tandem full-time in 2012, Evan served as a business consultant to Tandem while he helped manage his family’s cemetery business, Memory Gardens Inc., in Clemson, S.C. From 2008 to 2010, he worked in the Charleston, S.C., area for a private payment processing company – a five-time Inc. 5000 honoree based in Atlanta.Evan truly understands the needs of the business owner/entrepreneur because he is one. Evan is not only a Certified Payment Professional, but he is also a licensed Realtor, insurance agent, bartender/mixologist and private pilot. He is president of Tandem Health, offering health insurance and medical care options for small businesses and families in South Carolina.While flying is one of Evan’s new passions, he also enjoys deer and turkey hunting, snow skiing and golf. The Eagle Scout spent three years in Colorado as a ski lodge bellman and a golf course ranger. Nowadays he enjoys hitting the links at Cross Creek Plantation in Seneca, S.C. Evan is married to Laurie and currently services on the United Way of Greenville County Young Philanthropists Council.Evan is a graduate of Clemson University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in packaging science.
