I'm a third year Public Affairs major pursuing a minor in Urban and Regional Studies (3.968 GPA) attending the University of California, Los Angeles. I'm targeting my passions in government relations, with a specific emphasis on land-use and transportation policies. In my first two years at UCLA, I've pursued many opportunities to work within these passions and advocate for concrete reforms. Through work with the university's student government as the elected Facilities Commissioner, I've advocated for the needs of UCLA students to the city and county of Los Angeles. As the Chair of the Transportation Committee in the North Westwood Neighborhood Council, I've already developed vast experience with government work.I've supported the work of advocacy groups throughout Los Angeles as an integral part of my values. Collaborating with the LA-based organization Streets for All, I founded the Westwood Together movement, a coalition of government, student and advocacy organizations seeking to revolutionize active transportation on campus and into our community. Interest in housing policy has also lead to work with the LA Tenants Union. Alongside several graduate students, I'm currently recreating the local Westwood Branch of the tenants union to better protect our community from landlord abuses.In my free time, you can find my exploring LA's many neighborhoods (exclusively by transit or foot!) or checking off a restaurant on the LA Times 101 best list. As a black belt in Taekwondo, I've learned much about the importance of meticulous discipline and hard work -- both of which I demonstrate excellently when I can bake the office a batch of phenomenal cookies!I'm targeting internship and employment opportunities in Los Angeles during the summer of 2023. Part-time work also possible during the school year!
