At my core, I am a storyteller. Through acting, writing, editing, marketing, boardgaming, dungeon-mastering, music, reviewing and critiques, I aspire to engage and spark the imaginations of my audience and myself. Also I bake.I have 17 years experience in the Canadian entertainment industry. Originally from rural Manitoba, I studied theatre performance in Toronto, ON, and have performed across North America and internationally. I've developed crucial skills in managing and leading teams, and a keen mind for marketable ideas & engaging ventures. As a freelance marketing consultant, producer, and digital marketer, I've written advertisement and social media copy, and provided editing and speech writing services. Improvisational talent, a strong sense of humor, and superior PR skill have helped me to build reputable, strong connections with others on a mental and emotional level. As a critic by nature, I have always ravenously consumed popular (and unpopular) culture and have come to believe that if one creates something, it should be the best thing that one can create. In theatre, this translates to "theatre magic" where, through simple but creative use of staging, lighting, and appealing to human needs/fears/desires, a director can get a group of strangers to imagine, and thereby feel, the same thing. Group imagination might as well be real magic, since, through everyone's same experience, the illusion becomes real. That's what I love. This is storytelling. This is marketing. Marketing is understanding your audience's wants, needs, and desires and appealing to them, making your audience want a relationship with you. I’m currently producing theatre events in Edmonton, developing systems & marketing management, building a new business, writing social media and print advertising copy, and most importantly creating DnD campaigns.
