Groups reporting to me do the following:Responsible for the design and development of new chemical products for heavy industrial and specialty commercial applications.Supply chain management for chemical raw materials and finished chemical blends to support ongoing manufacturing of key product lines.Act as a scientific advisor to top level management and clients to ensure chemical products are meeting end user needs.Subcontractor management for material production, quality analysis and change management.

Management of real estate redevelopment projects focusing on the conversion of single family dwelling to multi-family properties for enhanced cash flow.Financial management of the company including accounts payable/receivable. Participation in private funding acquisition to fund ongoing construction projects.Completion of permit applications for a range of construction activities. Subcontractor procurement and management.Property management of completed units.

• Management of contractors and junior staff conducting scheduled maintenance, qualification, repair and analysis duties for a variety of analytical chemistry instrumentation.• Facilitate the training and qualification of new hires and more junior staff members for preventative maintenance and repair tasks.• Conduct routine calibration, maintenance, and qualification of analytical and process laboratory equipment to comply with strict GMP standards, including: balances, HPLC, GC, mass spectrometers, polarimeter, scanning electron microscopy, ICP-MS, NMR, and auto titrators.• Locate and diagnose equipment failures and then perform repairs by replacing parts and performing troubleshooting on out of specification equipment.• Develop and execute troubleshooting research protocols to diagnose failures in operation establish best practices in instrument operation. • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure continuous adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

• Develop and implement a laboratory quality management system encompassing analytical chemistry, cell biology, and molecular pharmacology research areas.• Implement and validate a 21 CFR 11 compliant Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN).• Manage quality control protocols such as method validation and release testing.• Develop and validate extraction and analytical methods for botanically derived pharmaceutical and NHP candidates.• Perform audits, issue CAPA reports, and document nonconformance to ensure continuous improvement of products and the quality system. • Successfully authored licensing application for research using controlled substances (Cannabis) and implemented handling and security policies in accordance with the regulations put forward by Health Canada.Conduct QMS development leading to ISO 9001 certification readiness.

• Development of new automated chemistry methods for the high throughput analysis of water nutrients and contaminants.• Qualify new instrumentation and author SOPs instruct proper use of the instrument and ensure proper functionality.• Perform sample preparation and analyses on client samples using a variety of quality controlled analytical methods.• Report data by use of a centralized laboratory information management system (LIMS).• Maintain analytical instrumentation by performing routine calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Perform laboratory safety inspections to ensure researchers at the university are adhering to safety policies.• Provide chemical neutralization services for chemicals that are highly hazardous or unlabeled in accordance with local and federal policy. • Train laboratory staff on hazardous material practices and advise research groups on new safety protocols during the induction of new hazardous materials.• Develop safe handling procedures and SOPs for a variety of hazardous chemicals, biohazards, and radioactive isotopes.
