Using community based strategies, implemented a variety of creative projects to increase the capacity of parents groups, primary schools, educators and students.-Conducted data driven community needs assessments based on stakeholder interviews, school district data, and focus groups, utilizing translators in situations where French (the national language) was not spoken. -Created and implemented training modules in English and French for newly arrived volunteers to address the practical and ethical challenges of working in a foreign country with extremely vulnerable populations.-Communicated safety information from the US Embassy to volunteers on site as a regional security warden. On several occasions I was responsible for communicating pertinent security information to volunteers at remote sites, and remained in contact while they consolidated in predetermined locations.
