Evan’s approach, methods and practice emerge from the sensibilities of both disciplines. Developing into a defining characteristic of his work is an attention and care for water. Evan earned his undergraduate in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University in the United States. Upon graduating he began professional practice at a small landscape architecture firm (Phronesis) in Kansas City. As a junior level landscape architect, Evan played a role in the development of several projects. It was during this time that he further developed his interest in water, he credits the firms focus on combined sewer system overflow mitigation in particular as providing an entry point and direction for the development of his urban design strategies and methods. Evan completed his MA in Research Architecture from Goldsmiths University of London in the Summer of 2023. His practice-based research investigates the ways that planning and design have contributed to coastal squeeze. The critical component of his investigations seeks to describe and detail future scenarios of degrowth, adaptation and managed retreat. Evan has been with Dan Pearson Studio since the Fall of 2023.
