I held responsibility for full-cycle recruiting at Kenworth Division of PACCAR Inc including Mechanical, Electrical, and Embedded Engineering in addition to all Business and IT roles from interns to executive level.This role was a sink or swim type of opportunity, and I successfully stayed afloat. I stepped in with over 50 job requisitions to fill spanning several different disciplines. As the sole recruiter I was able to leverage my customer service and relationship building skills to recruit high performing candidates with a low turnover rate. I also learned to ask for help and delegate tasks or problems to team members with stronger traditional HR skills. Through that process I learned much more about HR as a whole (compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, organizational development, to name a few). Admittedly, my time to fill was higher than I would have liked, but I fought through it with an optimistic attitude, strong communication, and a process improvement mindset. My work in this role propelled me to be promoted and relocated to Texas and join the Peterbilt HR team.

I provided support to the Corporate Recruiting Team with oversight of PACCAR Inc, PACCAR Leasing, and PACCAR Financial. In addition, I recruited and coordinated hiring for the Summer Internship Program, entry-level Admins and Coordinators, as well as hard-to-fill Diesel Technician roles at PacLease Truck Rental stores in Dallas and Chicago.This role was designed to be an admin/coordinator position, however, I jumped at opportunities to work through the full recruiting life cycle. I gained proficiency in our ATS with minimal training and stepped up to recruit students from several universities, mechanics (without any prior mechanical knowledge), and Administrative Assistants that supported Corporate Executives. This position taught me how to navigate a corporate environment, and have that polish needed when working with high level Executives.

I oversaw all daily and monthly procedures done by the front desk, and provided supervisor support to F&B, Housekeeping, and Maintenance departments during evening shift.In addition to the usual responsibilities I was also known as the “problem solver”. When guest issues were not resolved by my front desk staff, I was often called upon to solve high tension and unique problems. In this role I nurtured the ability to turn a negative into a positive, and developed lasting relationships to create repeat customers.
