• Selected to research in the Climate Computing stream of the selective First-Year Innovation & Research Experience • Working in a team of 4 to develop multiple theses and test them by writing Python scripts to run on Derecho, the newest supercomputer developed by the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and conducting deep analysis of the simulation • Present our completed research at the annual FIRE Summit to hundreds of FIRE members, faculty, and UMD students

Taught campers ages 7 to 15 how to program video games in Scratch, Processing, and Lua using Pico 8.Types of 2D games programmed include platformers, dungeon crawlers, and fighting games, and 3D games include first-person shooters and top-down player versus environment. Explained and displayed campers’ projects to their parents who came to the camp at the end of every session.

• Scheduled times for Life Time members to play on the courts and checked them in when they arrived• Maintained a clean pickleball court and made sure the members had adequate paddles and balls for playing

• Worked with campers as young as 7 and as old as 15, daily job included going to activities with them, sitting with them at meals, and putting them to bed• Learned how to handle difficult situations with campers such as campers fighting, being homesick, and being disrespectful to counselors• Traveled to Israel for 3 weeks on a multicultural trip where I gained perspective and a deeper understanding of Israeli and Palestinian culture

• Created a computer program in Java that sorts hundreds of campers into activities every week• Used the program during the summer, did maintenance and bug fixing as needed• Learned how to work on Maven projects and read and write data to and from Excel sheets

Took orders from customers at the register and over the phone, and learned how to operate the register and the ordering system.Assembled made-to-order bagel sandwiches, put orders together, and brought orders out to customers.
