CurrentPI: Darby SaxbeStudy: “HATCH (Hormones Across the Transition to Childrearing) Study”The NEST Lab is interested in how close relationships affect health, with a particular focus on the transition to parenthood as a window of neuroplasticity and a nexus of hormonal, behavioral and psychological change. We are also interested in scanning expectant and new fathers both before and after the birth of their child, using a combination of structural and functional imaging to examine the fathering brain and how it is correlated with hormones and parenting behavior.My specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Engaged child participants in enrichment activities to maintain their comfort and involvement in the research process- Observed MRI procedures and facilitated participant preparation- Transcribed study visit interviews for data analysis- Clip positive and negative affects in FVT recordings for MRI tests - Co-leading in-lab study visits by setting up for visits, guiding families through their visits, and ensuring all protocols are followed accurately - Collected biological samples from participants for hormone level analysis
