Production Chef

Employment My main responsibilities in this role where handling cash, credit or check transactions with customers Issues, change receipts, refunds, or tickets, Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information, Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment, Keep reports of transactions, Answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue.

This was a work placement organized through my college course, I completed 4 hours per week. My duties included floor walking around the gym to spot potential dangers, and any clients who may need assistance with equipment or technique as well as being approachable to all members for any questions. I shadowed a number of instructors, as well as carried out Gym Inductions to new members unfamiliar with a Gym Environment, designing programs for new clients to help achieve their goals as well as offering advice to any members on their current training situation. I feel this placement helped me to develop my professional skills with clients and colleagues and understand what it is like to work in a professional environment

This was a temporary position over the summer months, in this position I was part of a team responsible for completing grass cutting contracts for the council (around 80 gardens a day) mainly in the Airdrie and Coatbridge area, which meant dealing with tenants on a daily basis and receiving feedback both positive and negative and taken action to rectify any situations while remaining professional. I was also part of a 2-man team, which was responsible for doing house clear outs, which could range from removing furniture to having to deal with hazardous materials, biological waste and syringes, making sure all safety standards were adhered to.

In this position, I ensured day-to-day preparation and played a leading role in running of service as well as these tasks I was responsible for ordering, dealing with suppliers and ensuring paperwork was kept up to date. I was responsible for on-the-job training to be given to the apprentice as well as assisting commis chefs with further development of skills and job knowledge

In this position, I ran the veg and larder sections primarily as well as assisting in the prep for other sections. I was responsible for orders and day-to-day running of these sections as well as overseeing the commis chefs and apprentices., I feel this has been the most rewarding experience of my career so far allowing me to push myself both with my food with high standards in presentation and a understanding of seasonal produce and using new techniques to enhance both flavors and the dining experience, it also gave me the opportunity to be involved in a fine dining establishment and the standards which are set by such places.

In this position I worked my way up from a commis chef showing strong leadership qualities and organizational skills to a chef-de-partie, In this position my role was to deal with suppliers, maintain order lists and stock levels, ensuring paperwork was kept up-to-date, responsible for maintaining high hygiene levels and organization of prep in my section to ensure day to day service.
