Took on the responsibilities of leader of the eProcess360 division, which operates largely independently and symbiotically with rest of the company. Responsible for most aspects of maintaining a functioning organization, including: Team Management, Leading Team Communication, Developing Standard Policies, Sales Visits & Demos, Gathering Product Requirements, Product Design, Feature/Bug Triage, Release Planning, Ensuring Quality Customer Support, as well as other minor duties. Through developing internal practices and helping team members to grow in their careers, the platform was stabilized and polished significantly while continuing to add new products and features.

Full stack development working on any part of the platform that needed attention. Comfortable with technical tasks of any difficulty, including those outside of my previous experience, and ensuring that they actually solve the problem without unintended consequences. Advocated for improvements to development practices, such as standardizing code styling and increasing code review coverage for new features to 100%, and then worked to convince the team of their necessity and implement them.

As a developer (team of three), we designed the new enterprise-scale Cyber Security Incident Response product from the fundamentals. I spent several months interviewing industry experts, analyzing white papers, scoping and frameworking the product, and finally culminating in a functional Beta product. Taking the industry to the next level of sophistication with a solution that would work as a single highly flexible tool: 1) Automatically ingested threat data in any of several known formats from any number of public and proprietary threat intelligence feeds into a single organized and flexible database. 2) Read incident reports from existing detection mechanisms and looked for possible matches in the internal threat database as well as other company-specific information, such as an asset management system, providing any relevant relationships to the responder that might aid remediation. 3) Assisted responders in understanding the context of the attack and build a profile of the threat actor.Created a custom “Counterfeit Goods” oriented version of the Investigation Management application with a focus on generating metrics and reports to assist non-technical users in analyzing data and finding trends.

Involved in all aspects of design, development, and maintenance of requested features for VANTOS custom applications. In addition, this included fixing bugs for the in-house MVC application development platform as necessary. Worked on more than a dozen projects; two of the largest projects were: - A new application to track court case outcomes, record fines paid, and calculate the amount to be distributed to each government agency - highly complex due to record keeping around changes in federal & state regulatory statutes for allocation/distribution of fines. - Extended our eBay Cyber Security Incident Response application to auto-populate relevant information from trusted external websites (e.g. Alexa, WhoIsXmlApi, Google Safe Browsing) and internal sources (e.g. information about the infected node from the company’s asset management system, managerial chain of employees from the original infected node)

Primary responsibility for the quality of the product including: installation and migration of server/platform/applications, application design, and application UI. Until mid 2011, I was the sole QA Engineer supporting all (10+) senior software engineers in addition to full responsibility for OS/middleware level support. Through scripting and solid QA practices, reduced the effort required to install or upgrade products at a customer site. This previously required an engineer to fly onsite for two full days, to a process that was typically completed by the customer in minutes. To achieve this involved designing and enforcing a documentation and process-oriented release procedure in the VANTOS organization which previously had none and was reluctant to take time away from feature development. This paradigm shift resulted in much smoother and more frequent upgrades that could be performed on customer machines due to our increased confidence in the success and stability of the upgrade.Wrote and updated several applications using our internal rapid application development platform for demos and to track internal data. Many of the data tracking applications were used consistently for the lift of the organization, including a fully fledged bug tracking suite.

Maintaining and operating the technology in the main lecture halls at the UW during all manner of lectures and special events. Other responsibilities included working with organizers to ensure that events proceed smoothly and invisibly to attendees.
