Albion College

Independent research done over a ten-week period on the invertebrate fauna of the Bayport Limestone of Bellevue Michigan. Tasks included fossil collection, preparation, comparison to previously collected specimens, Reevaluation and restructuring of collection. Fossil measurements, comparisons to previously published research on Bayport Limestone invertebrate fauna. Collection of gathered data into descriptive analysis. This was a 10-week Summer program, with funding granted twice (2012 & 2013) for the same research.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Preparing collected samples of microscopic fossil foraminefera by weighing them, preparing and rinsing them in solution. Once samples were cleaned, they were sorted by order and size under a microscope using a fine-haired brush, upwards of several hundred individual specimens at a time. Sorted samples were then recorded by number and stored for later data analysis.
