Head engineer at a small startup developing a live data collection and analysis platform for agriculture vehicles. Designed and developed a custom embedded board employing various microcontrollers centered around the Omega Onion SoC.Experience with CANbus interaction and reverse engineering of vehicle codes, GPS and Real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning, and various environmental sensors.Considerable amount of full-stack type work spanning embedded systems, mobile devices, web and a highly scalable backend in a Kubernetes environment. Employed Elasticsearch, MySQL, Redis, and RabbitMq.

Served as team lead and primary contributor for the online data mobility engine (written in C) within the DataSphere product. A major component within the data-path, this high throughput component required highly sophisticated algorithm design and utilized many acceleration technologies such as AVX extensions and zero-copy techniques. This component implemented a large portion of the NFSv3 specification as well as a custom control protocol utilizing XDR.Maintainer of the open source data-persistence project (gitlab.com/eorme/data-persistence) and written in C++. This tool fills a unique need within the storage industry of providing rapid integrity validation of storage devices across power failures with fine-grained tracking and other advanced features not provided by general purpose data integrity tools. See project page for details.Served as integration lead for data assimilation, a feature which migrated live data hosted on NFS and SMB servers to Primary Data’s proprietary DataSphere filesystem. This required sophisticated low-level protocol interactions and complex file attribute transformations for incongruent filesystems.

As a member of the core engineering team I work on the virtual storage layer driver which is the heart of Fusion-io's product line. On a special project I wrote an auxilliary Linux driver tailored for a specific customer's need.I also designed and implemented the primary toolset used for testing and validation of the virtual storage layer driver and accompanying firmware. This work involved implementing a large number of diagnostic tools addressing various aspects of NAND Flash behavior as well as block device layer interfaces.As this framework matured I coordinated the efforts from a large number of individuals on different teams throughout the company towards improving this codebase.
