Evan Pesses is a Los Angeles based Cinematographer focusing on Advanced Technologies, more specifically, Virtual Reality. Evan’s VR credits include branded content for Chevy, NFL, Intel, and Kawasaki along with numerous concerts, experiential shorts and music videos. Evan's traditional content includes independent feature films, music videos and commercials. He specializes in high-speed, underwater cinematography, and stereoscopic capture. Originally from New Orleans, at an early age, Evan was intrigued by motion pictures. Though a son of an engineer, he grew up with the arts. It was his love of movies and his father's technical influence that inevitably led Evan to cinematography. Evan received a degree in Film Theory from the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying under David Bordwell. Evan first began his discovery of cinematography working as a motion picture film processor in Madison. After a short stint in development, Evan found the lighting world. Immersing himself in this art form, he worked as a Gaffer on more than thirty films and over a hundred music videos and commercials before taking up the helm as a DP himself. Evan's philosophy is that character and story defines the cinematography in his pictures. If the the photography doesn't serve the film, then it has no truth. Evan continues to live on the edge of next generation image making. He recently was behind the camera on the first feature film simultaneously photographed and streamed live on a worldwide platform (Facebook Live). “Stream” was produced for Crypt TV, Eli Roth and Blumhouse Productions and received more than 1.5 million views in less than 24 hours.Evan is an active member of the International Cinematographers Guild - Local 600.
