Field experience included independently visiting various construction sites throughout Hamilton and the surrounding area conducting concrete, asphalt, and soil quality control tests. Throughout these site visits, interaction and co-operation was needed with many new people from site to site in order to communicate results, good or bad. Additionally, problems were verbally solved and dealt with on site. Experience was gained on field with various pieces of equipment including nuclear densometers and air gauges. Paper work was often required to be completed both on and off the field on a regular basis.Lab experience includes conducting tests on soil samples (i.e. proctor testing, small & large sieve testing). This was done both individually and as a team.

Assisted in repairs and inspections including constructional and electrical work according to safety procedures in residential buildings throughout campus. Work was also done individually using various hand and power tools.
