General Assembly’s Web Development Immersive (WDI) is a full-time, 12-week long training program dedicated to prepare students to think like engineers and approach problems creatively in order to build the next generation of web applications and digital products. - Collaborated with UX Design students using AGILE planning to design and build a recipe blog, incorporating the MailChimp API for newsletter signup.- Developed multiple static websites using JS, CSS and HTML.- Worked in teams of 3 – 4 developers to plan and build 4 full stack applications using MERN and Python with Django.Projects:- Personal Portfolio: Static website built with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS.-Crow Watch: An app built to protect my deck from crows. Using React Native, this app employs an old iPhone to take a photo of my deck every 30 seconds. These photos stored in an S3 bucket on Amazon Web Services. The user facing portion is also built with React Native; I can view photos of my deck in order to delete photos without crows and save photos with crows. The objective of saving photos with crows, is to collect photos and create a crow photo data set in order to build a neural network that recognizes crows, and scares them away!-Travel Blog: An app built using the MERN stack (Mongoose, Express, React, Node.js). Users can provide travel/tourist tips for cities included within the app. The app is a specific demonstration of CRUD methods and state management across a multi-page application.- MEENSTREAM: An app built with Python, Django, and CSS3. Users can search for their favorite songs, artists, or albums before saving them to their profile. This app uses the Spotify API to provide an artist catalogue, as well as artist and album images.- Check Your Rep: An app built with Mongoose, Express, and Node.js, with elected representative information acquired from the Google Civic API. This app allows users to search for their local representatives using their zip code.

As the 6th Grade Math teacher I developed a SBAC standard driven curriculum that incorporated technology through the Khan Academy and IXL platforms. I also leveraged student Chrombooks to teach relevant Google Suite topics in math class. These efforts culminated in 60% of my students meeting or exceeding grade level standards and 21.9% nearly meeting grade level standards on the 2018 SBAC test.As Grade Level Chair I managed a team of three teachers in all aspects of our grade level. This included planning and executing whole group field trips, acting as the main parent point of contact, planning and facilitating Common Planning Time meetings, as well as leading relevant grade level systems coordination.-I acted as the main point of contact for the school Leadership Team regarding whole-school decisions and specific grade level decisions.-Collaborated with the 3 other Grade Level Chairs and the Leadership Team to plan and execute whole school events, such as National Walk-Out Day, Summit's Got Talent, Back to School Night, Anti-Gun Protest, 8th Grade Promotion, as well as report card pick up days and staff professional development days.-Facilitated grade level specific professional development sessions related to data tracking, use, and review.

School’s Out NYC serves as a pathway to success for students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Structured as clubs, students can choose from instruction in sport, art, or technology. Students also are required to demonstrate youth leadership through community service.- Managed three Program Associates to operate an after school program for 6th – 8th graders in Harlem, NY.- Collaborated with outside vendors to increase the number of activities students could participate in, with a focus on STEM programming.- Developed Behavior Management seminars for Program Associate professional development.- Mentored Program Associates on topics related to content/lesson delivery, behavior management, and conflict resolution.

I worked as one part of a 6th grade team. My two colleagues and I led a group of nearly 70 students into middle school and began developing students understanding of the high school and college application process.
